North Carolina weather is consistently inconsistent. The only thing predictable about it IS it's unpredictability. You can never guess what the weather is going to be like from day to day. Needless to say, this winter has been even more unpredictable. Here in the the South, we don't get temperatures too far below freezing. This winter has produced temperatures as low as 13 degrees for us, it's crazy.
Just at the beginning of this week we were experiencing very comfortable weather with temperatures reaching the upper to mid 50's. Just a day later we were hit with a massive weather storm producing sleet and an expected 8-10 inches of snow. That's unheard of in this area. Luckily we haven't had many complications from the storm, with the exception of the cancellation of school and businesses closing (I bet many children are happy about this fact, while parents are upset about the interruption of their daily vacations... LOL). Places like Georgia and Virginia have experienced far worse with people being stranded in their cars in traffic for up to 12 hours, students spending the night at schools, and a few casualties.
How can something so beautiful be so dangerous? I'm praying constantly for everyone's warmth and safety. I'm so grateful to be in the warmth and comfort home and to be able to stay in before things got too crazy out.
I got out for a few minutes to take a few shots of my street. Enjoy!
