Duke Gardens Engagement Photos : Asha + Mark
It was the Fall of 2009 and a new job for her that ultimately brought them together. Although she knew the shoe department at JCPenny wasn't her forever job, Asha had began a new chapter in her life. Little did she know the changes she was about to encounter were far bigger than she imagined.
He had been there for two years at this point, so he noticed her shortly after her first few days. Over the course of his time in that same department, he'd had many co-workers come and go, but there was something about her that stood out. Maybe it was her smile, or her eyes, or her down-to-earth personality but Mark instantly noticed a growing attraction for Asha.
It would be nice to say that it was love at first sight, however, they unfortunately did not hit it off right away. He liked her, she — on the other hand — thought he was a nice guy and that they'd make great friends. He found himself initiating conversation more and more, and occasionally rerouting his path to ensure he passed her line of sight a few times a day.
As time progressed and their friendship developed, she thought nothing of him asking for her phone number... that was, until he called for small talk. His intentions became crystal clear to her. He gathered the courage to ask her on a date, and she declined. He asked again, she said no. He asked again and after all of her friends told her to give him a chance, she finally said yes. It was after their first date in June of 2010 that Asha realized that it was the best decision she's ever made.
One of my absolute favorites from the entire shoot. Mark is giving GQ in the front as Asha is getting ready for her close-up in the back!
It was a perfect fall day in late November. Look at how amazing those colors are!
Duke gardens has these amazing stone and quartz paths that made the perfect hideaways for a casual stroll.
Look at that smile and laugh, he's the luckiest man on the planet. She is gorgeous.
Congratulations Asha + Mark, I can't wait to photograph your big day in June!
