Jharnell | Bertie STEM High School - Class of 2016
Jharnell is a Senior at Bertie Stem High School in Bertie, NC -- where she is a member of the Marching Band Auxiliary, Varsity Cheerleading, Beta Club, Science and Math Club, and Student Government Association. Jharnell, or Lia as her family and friends affectionately call her, holds many student leadership roles including SGA President and Cheerleading Co-Captain. After high school she wants to attend East Carolina University to major in Social Work and minor in Business Administration.
Jharnell is incredibly smart and has a personality of gold! It's so great to see students give so much of themselves to their schools. She loves everything that she's involved in and gives it her all!
Our session kept getting pushed back because of the rain. We eventually decided that we wouldn't let the rain stop us from going out and having fun on our shoot! We met at the studio with the makeup artist, Kaylah (who is another one of the senior models), and got her all dolled up and ready for her shoot! I had so much fun on our shoot!
What advice would you give to the upcoming freshmen?:
"If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything."
How have you changed since freshman year?:
Over the fast four years, I have matured tremendously and began to view the world differently. Now, I see the major help that small communities need!
What would you do if you won as $50,000,000 lottery?:
If I won a $50,000,000 lottery, I would make sure my family is well settled. Then I would invest in various foundations to help those who are less fortunate. With much that is left, I would travel the would with my family and friends.
Who has been your biggest inspiration?:
My mom is my biggest inspiration. She teaches me that in life you will fall but it is up to you to get back up. Though the struggle of raising two girls, my mom made sure that we wanted for nothing. My mom has taught us the importance of a great education and for that, we will never fail.
To Mr. Arline, my favorite teacher,
It was nice knowing you and all but, it is time for me to spread my wings
Thank you so much Jharnell, for allowing me the opportunity to capture your senior portraits! I know this year is super exciting for you! I'm so glad that you loved your photos and I know you're going to accomplish every single things you set out to do! You're a phenomenal dancer, cheerleader, student, friend, and person! Have fun during your senior year and cherish this time!
