Happy Birthday, Mom

Today is a special day. My mom -- my rock and my number one fan -- is another year wiser today... and another year more beautiful.

I'm currently sitting here trying to figure out the perfect words to let you know how much you mean to me. Words simply can not express that sentiment. I don't always show it, but I'm so thankful for all that you've done and sacrificed to mold me into the person that I am today.

I could go on and on about how much you've poured into me, how much love you've shown me, how many times you allowed me into your bed when I was afraid to sleep alone or needed to be comforted, how many times you've supported my love for art, how many times you've bragged about my accomplishments, how many times I've felt embarrassed by your bragging, how many times you've given me that valuable but unsolicited life advice, how many times you've made me laugh, or how many times you've shown me just how phenomenal you are. I could write a book on all those things, but today I simply want to say, "I love you and I'm so grateful for your life."

I couldn't possibly imagine life without you. Although we don't always agree, that doesn't mean that you aren't in each and every inch of my heart. I love everything about you. Your strength. Your courage. Your wisdom. Your temper. Your smile. Your frown. Your silly impressions. Your irrationality at times. Your hugs. Your dramatic personality. Your love. Your sacrifice. Your everything. These are all things that make you, you -- and they are beautiful.

You are a sister, a mother, a daughter, a hero, and you're loved by so so so so so many others. You are phenomenal!

Here's to a blessed 63 years of life. Today is a celebration of another year of happiness and love. Today is a celebration of another year of YOU... and so many more to come. I hope today is the happiest day of your life and each day following is even happier.
